Saddle Sore Riders CLUB
We are a pure riding club.
We want to: "Get the backyard horse out of the backyard!"
President's Letter
MAY 2024
Saddle Sore Riders,
April was a whirlwind of activity for our club as we celebrated the 52nd annual Horseweek. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of many members, this year's event was a tremendous success. However, amidst the bustling excitement, there are individuals whose exceptional contributions deserve special recognition.
First and foremost, let's extend our deepest gratitude to MayLynn Motley. MayLynn's unwavering dedication and tireless efforts were instrumental in ensuring the smooth coordination of parking over the three bustling days of Horseweek. Not only did she excel in her designated role, but she also went above and beyond by assisting throughout the event, from the quarter dip to serving as an outrider for the poker ride. MayLynn's commitment to our club and Horseweek epitomizes the spirit of Saddle Sore Riders, and for that, we are immensely grateful.
Additionally, I would like to shine a spotlight on Cindy Cameron, whose selfless acts of kindness and compassion have truly embodied the spirit of service. During Christina Spangler's illness and subsequent injury, Cindy quietly worked behind the scenes, caring for Christina's horses and offering support in any way possible. Cindy's dedication and generosity exemplify the values that define our club.
I also want to express my gratitude to all the members who played vital roles in ensuring the success of Horseweek. Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and each of you contributed to creating unforgettable memories for our club and the community.
During the poker ride, a moment occurred that reminded us of the timeless wisdom of John Wayne: "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway." With the support of friends, Tammy Kapec triumphantly returned to the saddle, embodying the indomitable spirit that defines our community.
As we look ahead, I'm excited to remind you of our next general meeting on June 2nd at 10 AM, to be held at the American Legion. I encourage each of you to extend an invitation to a friend and help us surpass the milestone of 50 attendees. Let's continue to strengthen the bonds of our club and make a positive impact in our community together.
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to the success of Horseweek, and I look forward to seeing you all at the upcoming meeting.
Saddle up, Saddle Sore Riders! The adventure continues.
Warm regards,
Don
